Research and method development
The DWS Hydro-Ecology sees itself as a bridge between university research in the broad field of limnology and practical application in the field of water management. For more than 20 years we have regularly participated in international research projects. Our cooperation partners include the Helmholtz Centre for Environmental Research, the Institute for Limnology of the Austrian Academy of Sciences, the Joint Research Centre in Ispra and the Technical University of Budapest.
Our cooperation partners include the Helmholtz Centre for Environmental Research, the Institute for Limnology of the Academy of Sciences and the Budapest University of Technology. Based on our many years of experience, we have been commissioned by the Federal Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, Environment and Water Management to develop various assessment methods for ponds and streams. Dr. Georg Wolfram has been internationally active since 2003 as coordinator of the Alpine Geographical Intercalibration Group (since 2007 phytoplankton) within the framework of the intercalibration according to the EU Water Framework Directive.
